Esteban Valdivia's theory, Director of the "Sonidos de América" project, supports the idea of cosmoaudition, the perception of universal sounds that connects music with celestial movements. According to Valdivia (2023), ancient American civilizations conceived music as both a science and an art of listening to the stars and reflecting their harmony on Earth, suggesting that the musical frequencies used by these cultures were interpretations of planetary sounds.
The creative methodology is based on capturing the artist's brainwaves during her sonic immersion with pre-Columbian instruments, translating them into tangible clay forms that evoke the ancient sound objects of ancestral cultures. This process highlights a contemporary cosmoaudition, where the artist, much like the ancestors who interpreted the sounds of the cosmos through their instruments, uses her brainwaves to transform sound into a physical expression, translating and encoding the frequencies of her own mind and soul into pieces that encapsulate her personal interpretation of this universal connection.
