ORGANIZATION FOR THE GROWTH OF ECUADORIAN CONTEMPORARY AND MOVEMENT ARTISTS IN NEW YORK CITY
NOVEMBER 13-15
CAMILLE GAMARRA

You're invited to Cosmogonies, an exhibition by Camille Gamarra that reimagines Ecuador’s pre-Columbian sonic heritage. Through cosmoaudition—the concept of "hearing" the universe—Gamarra immerses herself in the sounds of pre-Columbian instruments, once used by indigenous cultures to connect with the cosmos. Her brainwaves, recorded during this experience, are transformed into sculptural forms that blend ancient sound with modern expression.
This multisensory exhibit offers a unique dialogue between art, culture, and the cosmos. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase the artwork and exclusive merchandise and enjoy a cocktail reception celebrating Ecuadorian flavors and traditions.

Camille Gamarra is a visual artist known for her immersive installations that delve into the interplay between space and perception. Her work encourages sensory engagement, evoking emotions and fostering personal connections. She has exhibited in Ecuador, Argentina, and Switzerland, and her exhibition Introversión earned her the Lux Award 2023, leading to an invitation as a panelist at the first Contemporary Art Congress of Ecuador. Additionally, she has collaborated with major brands for art activations, enhancing creative experiences.
In Introversión, Camille's creative process involved capturing her brainwaves while immersed in pre-Columbian sounds, transforming them into clay forms that echo ancestral sound objects. This contemporary "cosmoaudition" translates her inner frequencies into physical pieces, embodying a personal, timeless dialogue between her soul and the universe.
Camille's work reflects her commitment to social and environmental consciousness. She has been involved in actions aimed at raising awareness and supporting community centers along the coast and in the Amazon region.
In 2023, she presented Un libro de posibilidades, a book featuring illustrations scanned and created by her 10-year-old son, showcasing her dedication to integrating personal experiences into her artistic endeavors.
Camille's artistic journey is marked by a deep exploration of sensory experiences and a commitment to fostering connections through art.

LUISA CUESTA
"In Ecuadorian Dreams, I pay homage to the land that has captivated my heart, a celebration of the beauty, magic, and essence of my beloved Ecuador. The constraints of insecurity, which once confined me to my home, paradoxically awakened a deep appreciation for the unexplored wonders of my country. This introspective journey, which began as a personal quest, evolved into a transformative passage that ultimately led me to leave Ecuador's shores. The coincidence of this exhibition's launch with my own departure serves as a poignant reminder of the indelible mark this journey has left on my soul. My ardent hope is to return one day to a serene, vibrant, and mystical Ecuador, a land that will forever be etched in my memory."
Through an exploration of her thought process and the meditative art of stitching, she reveals the intricate threads that weave together her inner world and artistic expression.
